World Series - Game 3
Reds 2, Braves 1 - (7 innings)
Palpatine drives in game-winner for walkoff win in extras!
With the series shifted over to the Eagan side, it was Palpatine who plated the game winner to give the Reds a 2-1 edge in the series. After evading trouble in the fifth and sixth innings, Sanchez could not escape doom in the seventh as the elder Payne laced an opposite field liner to the chain link in right that seemed to float over Edgar's head, allowing Jolly Red Giant to easily jaunt home for the winner. Sanchez, in taking the loss, only allowed 4 hits but had some serious control problems, walking 10 Reds. The Commies drew first blood in the last of the second with an RBI groundout by Spoon. The Braves would tie it at 1-all when Edgar took Spoon deep to left for a solo HR. Spoon also gave up 4 hits, striking out 10 and walking 1 for the victory.
