FINAL

Game 1

The Brewers were soooo thrilled to see the Padres end up along side them in the Central after last winter's division shuffle.  The Crew was an abysmal 1-12 against the Pa-dad-dillios heading into Monday night, with their last win coming against the original Phillies organization, back in June of 2004.

Nine looked to keep the Padres foot of oppression firmly planted, but a couple of early hits and throwing errors allowed the Brewers to jump out to an quick 2-0 lead.  Joe took the rock for the Crew, and with that shiny, new-ball, sinker working in his favor, held the Daddies bats at bay until Silver (1) cut the deficit in half with a solo shot to lead-off the 3rd.  Lawrence (1) answered with a two-run dinger of his own in the bottom of the 4th, appearing to open up a little bit of breathing room.  But, in typical Pads fashion, momentum swung the other way in the 5th.  After striking out the first two batters, Joe issued back to back walks to set the table for the Big Cheeze.  After working the count full, Larry (1) smoked a slider over the left field wall and tied thing up at 4 apiece.  The skies opened then, and with the rain falling hard, the Brewers finally flipped their fortune.  After walking in the go-ahead run, Nine (0-1) gave way to Shirls, who just wasn't able to stop the bleeding.  Hammer stroked a 2-run double, and an error on a dribbler back the mound plated 2 more to put the Booze Boys up 9-4 for good...and give them their first W against the Pads in nearly 4 years.
