FINAL

Game 1
Brewers 3, Royals 2
Web-gem play at the plate seals victory!
With the A's and Yankees home for the evening, the Brew Crew and the Royals decided to tango, and it was an amazing ball game, as a play at the plate sealed the win. With Jim West on on the sixth to try for the save and two outs in a 3-2 game, Patterson reached base on a dropped fly ball to the warning track. Truck then followed that with a base hit to right-center. When Henderson fired in the relay throw, Patterson got bold and decided to try scoring on the play. The throw got to West, who turned and fired, hitting Patterson about a foot from the plate for the game's final out. Joe Lawrence (2-0) pitched a dandy for the Brewers, going 5 2/3 innings, surrendering only 3 hits while fanning a pair.  Truck hit his first homer of the year, a solo shot, in the top of the 1st.  Henderson clubbed his 4th homer in as many games to give the Brewers a 2-1 advantage in the bottom of the first. Patterson took the loss for the Royals (1-1), allowing six hits and whiffing four with his eefus-style curveballs.
