FINAL

  (7)
Game 1
Phillies 15, Brewers 14 (7 inn)
Phils come back late for huge win
It was by far the highest scoring game of the year, and I'm sure once we look back at the year and determine the record-setting performances, many of them will be found right here in this two-hour classic. Both teams combined for 29 runs, 11 homers, 20 hits and 21 walks in this one.  The teams traded big innings all game long (as well as the lead) as the Brew Crew put up 5 runs in the top of the sixth to take a 14-10 lead.  With save specialist Jim "Gagne" West on to close it out in the sixth, things unraveled, when 2 walks and a single loaded the bases for Shirls, who promptly crushed one out to left field for a game-tying grand slam, the ballgame tied at 14-all. Shirls came on to pitch the 7th and shut the Brews down, then the Phils rallied for the win. Shirls singled off West to lead it off, Pace's ground out moved him to second, and Nine came up huge. With just his second hit of the year, he singled, driving in Shirls for the win.  Shirls had a monster game, picking up the win (3-1) in relief, and slamming three homers, 9 RBI and scoring seven times. Whoever had him on their fantasy team is a big winner!
