Under partly cloudy skies with on and off again rain, the Marlins and Gothams clashed in a tale of Swagger and Dagger. The Marlins, fresh off being no-hit in two bids against the Reds were in near-crisis mode. Backs against the wall they set incremental goals; make contact, get a first hit, follow with a second hit. Matched against player/manager T. Legend in game one, echoes of their previous Thursday contest began to swirl. Legend was cold and efficient through 4 innings before surrendering the first hit of the Marlin’s 2011 campaign. Schnoogens rifled a shot off the right-hander and it seemed as if the monkey had been lifted. Unfortunately for the Marlins, lightening did not strike twice in the game and T. Legend rolled to his first win of the season, throwing a one-hit shut-out. H9K was able to break his hitting slump going 3-7 at the plate with a pair of home runs and offer an offensive spark. After the game T. Legend was caught in a rare moment of modesty. “You have to respect the Fish. I thought I could get the lefty [Schnoogens] to chase but he won the battle. Hats off to him, man.”
