TJ vs. Kmart on the hill. No score through 2. Top of 3, Pearl hits a 2 run bomb. Kmart responds with 2 more shutout innings. With time running out in the bottom of the 5th, Aqua singled and I followed with a game-tying HR. Top of 6th, Kmart tries to leg out a single, twists his ankle and almost sprained it. He couldn't put much pressure on it, yet he still wanted play. He marched out to the hill (with a limp) and pitched the 6th. There may have been blood on his sock. I can't tell you how Curt Schilling-like this was. Almost identical.
Nothing in the 6th, let's play free wiff.
Top of the 7th, the sun was setting. Pearl singled. The camera was panning the dugout, not sure if Kmart could still walk, much less hit. Spotted hobbling to the box, Kmart had one last swing in him. Strike one. Strike two. I came in with a hard riser. Kmart swung with all his might...gone. I can't tell you how Kirk Gibson-like this was. Almost identical.
After he touched homplate, the O's kept cheering, waiting for the curtain call. Kmart finally wedged himself out of his chair and tipped his cap. Twins were up 4-2.
Bottom of the 7th. Kmart should've been on a stretcher by this point. Beardface leads off with a walk. Aqua singles to left. With O's fans on their feet (there weren't any), I was batting, the count was full. Kmart delivers....gone. I can't tell you how Kirby Puckett-like this was. Game over.
