FINAL

  (5)
Game 1
Expos 13, Phillies 1 (5 inn, mercy)
Red-hot X slug their way to mercy win
With the Expos passing them in the standings last week, the Phils needed something to happen in their favor.  Not to be in this one.  The X pounded out 14 hits and put a major hurting on the Phils with a 13-1 mercy rule win after 5 innings. Nine (0-3) got roughed up from the get-go allowing at least a run in every innings.  He walked three and struck out two while tossing BP to the X. Christian (3-0), meanwhile, kept the Phils bats at bay by allowing three hits (one of them a Shirls HR), whiffing four and walking only one.  Christian and Mattski each had 2 HR's for the Expos, while J-Ski had a five hit game.
