Dick lifts Crowns to narrow victory
Ex-Yankee Josh "Dick" Cota pitched like the man of '04 and not only carried the team with his great arm, but launched a solo homer down the left field line that was barely fair in the top of the fifth-- the only run in a game that validated the rookie Indians as an HRL force to be reckoned with. The Royals prevailed 1-0, despite the Tribe outhitting them 5 hits to 4. Cota (1-0) was brilliant, with 13 strikeouts, zero walks, and a couple of scoring-position escapes. Tim "Molgs" Molgren (0-1) was the tough luck loser for the Injuns, pitching a great ballgame, fanning five and walking just one. Craig "CJ" John and Molgs each had two hits for the Indians, while Cota and Truck each had two hits for the Royals.
