One run wonder
Here's another Hopkins AL pitchers duel as Rian "The Man" Heaslip (Red Sox) took on Dave "Cousin Dave" Hinrichs (Orioles) in a one run contest. Heaslip (2-0) got the win for the Sox, giving up no runs and only three hits in eight innings of work, while buying time for his team to score the go ahead run. Rian walked to start the eighth and then advanced on an out by Kevin "Washman" Washington. "Dirty" Steve Novak hit into another out, but got the RBI as Rian scored. Cousin Dave (0-1) was the bad luck loser in this one as he allowed the lone run to come not by the hand of a hit, but by the misfortune of a lead-off walk.
