4-29-04: This will be the page where all the stats and player profiles end up once the league is up and running.  For now, we’re in roster-building mode. The goal is to have a league and a place to play up and running sometime in May, and play a full season up through September.

Since this article appeared in the Pioneer Press, & the recent radio spot on KFAN, the response has been unbelievable, (we’re looking at 50-75 players so far) leading me to believe this league can be very fun and very successful.  The following are some answers to the questions I have been getting so far.

I’ve got friends who want to play. What do I tell them?!?
4-25-04: Have them contact me ASAP. The potential roster is filling up fast and I don’t know how much room I am going to have for fields and such, so I don’t yet know if I am going to have to limit the rosters. I am trying to collect as much player info as possible over the next few days.  I need to have their info (see below) so I have an idea what to expect.

Where is the league going to take place?
4-29-04: I’m looking hard at a spot in Eagan (thank you Mike Patterson!), but nothing is etched in stone. Again, I am open to suggestions and ideas that can lead us to getting a permanent home!

What are the rules of the game?
4-22-04: The rules of the HRL game can be found HERE, although keep in mind there may be a few slight modifications, but by reading this, you’ll get a pretty good idea.  Plus I can always go over any questions you have

What’s the itinerary for the league for the immediate future?
4-22-04: I plan to get as many people’s info as possible and am hoping that once I have enough guys, we’ll get together on either or both Saturday, May 1st and Saturday, May 8th at a time and place to be determined.  The purpose will be to get some scrimmage games going so people can get familiar with the rules, get familiar with one another and so we can look at the talent level in regard to getting some teams put together.

How many teams are you looking for and how many players per team?
4-22-04: A maximum of five players per team per game are allowed, a minimum of three to play a legal game.  As far as the number of teams, no limit has yet been set.

What are the costs?
4-22-04: The HRL is not out to profit.  We only need enough funds to cover costs, and since as of right now, we have no place to play, we have no way of measuring costs.  There will likely be a per-team entry fee for teams, and a per-player entry fee for players wanting to be drafted to a team as a free agent.

• A brief summary of your wiffleball/baseball/softball skills and experience.  If you are a real player, I wanna know! If you really suck, I wanna know that too!

I’m not a very good player.  Is there room for me to play?
4-22-04: Of course! The HRL has always been about including everyone, so don’t worry if you don’t have the best skills.  The ability to have fun is all that is needed.

What age group are you looking for?
4-22-04: This is going to be an adult league. We’d prefer it if you’re 18 or older, but have made exceptions in the past.
