PLAYER PROFILE

Signed with the Angels in 2008 at the recommendation of Rocket.  LOL.  Made his debut against the Reds, allowed 9 runs in 2/3 IP enroute to a 24-0 loss.  Turned an unassisted triple play, after commiting an error, against the Braves in 2008.  Hit a career high 14 HRs in 2009.  Struck out 189 batters (T-4th most in single season) in 113 innings pitched (3rd most HRL history) in 2010.  Hit a game-winning grand slam right-handed against the White Sox in 2010 & hit a grand slam left-handed against the Cardinals in 2013.  Pitched a no-hitter against the Marlins in 2013.  First time All-Star in 2015 and "released" before the end of the season.  Resigned with the Marlins in 2016, making it the 6th different team he's played for during his HRL career.  As a result, he's seeking the security of a long-term deal.

PERSONAL

Played baseball until 19 years old and made the switch to wiffles at 20.  Graduated with a bachelor's degree in law enforcement and currently works as a 911 call-taker and police dispatcher and as an on-call firefighter.  Child-less (that he's aware of) and lives in North St. Paul with his girlfriend, dog, and a roommate.   The girlfriend is out of his league and the dog, McKenna, has betrayed him and now loves his roommate more.   Hopefully the same doesn't happen with the girlfriend.
