Pitching/Defense:
AC makes use of a great 4-seam fastball and curveball combination. His 12-6 is thrown hard, and with less arc than others in the league. It often starts chest high, resembling high cheese, only to fall off the table and hit the plate or below the zone. He'll mix in a sidearm riser as well, giving hitters another arm angle and different look to think about.
Batting/Baserunning
Slater's batting improvements were outshined by his teammates, but he still made considerable strides in his average last summer. He has the strength to park wiffs regularly, but appeared to transition away from the apparent slugger he was in 2005 to more of a contact guy in 2006.
2007 Outlook:
With his knee back in shape, AC starts this season where the Twins need him; along side K-mart in the rotation. His stuff really is good enough to shutout a handful of teams and win a dozen games for his club.
