Game 1

Mathis HR the difference in a gem by both pitchers
Peeks' only mistake came against David Mathis, who ripped one out of the yard in the third to put the A's on top 2-0. The homer (5) was the only hit Peeks (0-2) allowed in the contest, as he pitched a helluva ballgame, walking a half dozen and striking out four. Mathis (2-0) was dominant, scattering just two singles, fanning five and walking a pair. Mathis has yet to allow a run this season, the only HRL pitcher to do so.
