Lund on target for A's to complete dual blanking
Another Mathis homer, (6) this one a three-run blast in the top of the 4th, proved to be the dagger as the A's rode the strong pitching of Greg Lund to a 4-0 win. Lund (3-1) was on target all night long, scattering just four hits, whiffing six and again, not walking anyone. Lund has run his walk-less streak to 24 innings. Brian Pace (1-1) pitched a good game for the Phils to no avail, allowing only three hits, the killer being the Mathis HR. Pace fanned five and walked three.
