FINAL

Game 2
A's 6, Yankees 4
Yanks snatch defeat from the jaws of victory
With the Yanks just a strike away from ending the A's winning streak, Lady Luck smiled upon the A's once again, as Larry tied the ball game at 3-3 with a base hit to the wall in the top of the sixth, and after a walk, Mathis sealed the deal with a 3-run blast for a 6-3 lead.  Mathis had three homers on the night (10 for the season). Willie hit a solo shot in the bottom of the sixth to cut it to 6-4, but it was too little too late.  Scott DuRoche (0-3) despite the loss, pitched a great ballgame for the Yanks before he unraveled with two outs in he sixth.  Scott allowed eight hits, walking 3 and whiffing five, while Greg "The Pirate" Lund (5-1) was on once again, allowing six hits, fanning five and walking one. Mathis had the three homers and drove in 5 for the A's.  ARRRRRRRRR!
