Cota mows 'em down at Carnelian
Meanwhile, at Carnelian park, just a mile away... Josh Cota whiffed an amazing 14 hitters with his blazing heat and shut the Phils out, 3-0. All the runs came on a controversial 3-run homer by Gus in the 3rd inning, which was unclear whether it was fair or foul. Cota (4-2) was his usual dominant self, walking 2 and allowing 2 hits to go along with all those K's. Brian "Pelota" Pace (1-2) picked up the loss, but pitched a damn good game, picking up 10 K's, while walking six and allowing just three hits.
