FINAL

  (8)
Game 2
Phillies 1, Yankees 0 (8 inn)
Phils win flame-fest with brain fart
Gus took a ground out at the mound in the bottom of the 8th, and fired it at Pelota at second base. The throw rolled into deep center, and Pelota scored with the game's only run, mercifully ending a game of flame throwing by the pitchers, and enabling the Phils to salvage a split with the Yankees.  Gus (0-2) kicked the speed up about 100 notches, but still took the loss despite fanning an incredible 16 hitters with his unhittable gas.  Shirls (4-1) continued his case for Cy Wiffle with an incredible game of his own, allowing just one hit over eight innings and striking out 14 while walking three. Pelota took a Gus fastball in the ribcage at one point in the game, leaving one of the nastiest wiffle welts we have ever seen!
