The Pirate takes no prisoners
Greg "The Pirate" Lund held down the scurvy lads known as the Twins with perhaps his best pitching performance of the year in a 3-0 blanking of the Twins. Pirate (7-4) allowed only a pair of singles while whiffing nine and walking one. He also had a HR and 2 RBI to lead the way offensively for the A's. Jon (3-3) lost his 3rd straight, lasting only 2+ innings before a sudden bout of wildness (he walked the first four batters of the third inning to score a run) forced the Twins to go to the 'pen, where K-Mart shined. K-Mart allowed only one hit in four innings of relief work, fanning five.
