Wifflestock Series: Game 2
Expos 11, A's 7
Home runs galore!  X forces game three
It looked like the A's were going to continue their torrid pace of offense as they started off the game with a lead thanks to a two-run homer by Larry. This was only the start, as ten home runs were hit between the two teams. The A's took their lead into the second, but the Expos would answer with back to back solo shots by Christian and Jamie (J-Ski). Not to be outdone, Larry (Cheezy) and Mathis retook the lead for the A's in the third with two more solo homers. In the fourth inning the A's extended their lead by three more runs with a two-run blast by The Pirate followed by Larry's third solo shot of the game. The X were blanked in the bottom of the inning as it looked like the A's were in position for the sweep, but the Expos had something different in mind as Matt (J-Ski) would provide the spark by leading off the bottom of the fifth with a solo shot and then adding another three-run homer in his next at bat. Christian then buckled down and blanked the A's in the top of the sixth leaving the game tied 7-7. In the bottom of the sixth, the magic would continue for the Expos as Mathis walked three batters before giving up a walk-off grand slam to Jamie to give the X the big win. Christian (1-0) came away with the win, giving up seven runs on eight hits and five walks. Mathis (0-1) took the loss, giving up the eleven Expo runs off of ten hits and four walks, while striking out seven.
