FINAL

Game 3

A's

Semifinals: Game 3
Brewers 4, A's 1 (8 inn)
Scoreless tie after 7 goes out of control
Game 3 was a classic pitchers duel that was started the previous Thursday, but after seven scoreless innings, darkness set in and the game was finished.  Joe and Mathis were dueling zeros until the continuation of the game in the 8th innings, when the Crew put up a 4-spot with 2 hits, 2 walks and some sloppy defense. The A's answered with a solo HR by the Pirate, but that was all the A's could muster as the Brewers avoided the sweep and forced a Game 4.  Joe was masterful for the Crew, scattering six hits, walking one and striking out 10. Mathis had a four-hit offensive game, and pitched well until it was continued. In all he allowed six hits, walked three and whiffed 11
