The Man one hits A's
The Red Sox's Rian "The Man" Heaslip (1-0) threw a gem of a game, giving one run on one hit and five walks and striking out nine. It was one sided most of the way as Heaslip never really got into trouble with the A's batters, only allowing two base runners at the same time once. Dave "Gus" Gustafson (0-1) took the lost, giving up four runs off of ten hits and four walks while striking out seven. The Red Sox spread their offense all around as all five members got at least one hit and their four runs were scored by four different players.
