FINAL

Game 2
Royals 2, Pirates 0
Hal, Truck combine on shutout to salvage split

Rookie prospect Hjalmar "Hal9K" Westie turned in a very strong 4-inning start, and Truck came on for a 2-inning save and combined shutout as the Royals took game 2 of the series by a 2-0 score to salvage a split for the evening.  Hal (1-0) was brilliant, allowing 2 hits, walking three and fanning nine in his 4 innings of work.  Truck came on for the final 2 innings and easily converted his first career save.  The only 2 Royals' runs came in the last of the third when a base hit to right resulted in Gimpy's awkwardly contorted body allowing the hit to get to the wall.  Gimpy laid there in pain as both the runner on 1st and the batter circled the bases for the only two runs of the game.  The Deuce (0-1) turned in the second stellar Pirates' pitching performance of the night, allowing just a pair of hits, striking out seven and walking three in the tough-luck defeat.
