Twins 11, Brewers 3
Twins sweep Barrel Battle for 3rd time in a row
What started off as another tight match-up quickly turned sour for the Brewers in Thursday's nightcap. AC Slater (1-0) had his stuff working well, mixing in all three pitches effectively, whilst going the distance for the Twins. Joe (1) was able to get a hold of a fastball in the 2nd, with two mates aboard, to give the Crew an early 3-1 lead, but the margin wouldn't hold up for long. The Twins struck back, in a big way, in the top half of the 4th. Hendi (0-1) struck out 14 on the night, but poor defense behind him, a barrage of ground balls to left, and a big 3-run dinger by K-mart (1) put the Twins up 7-3 with two innings left. The Twinks wouldn't look back, as Slater closed the door and JP Nagan (.417, 1HR, 5RBI) continued his hit parade against the Crew, not registering a single K on the night, and giving the Twins a nice cushion in the series clincher.
