Truck's Buckneresque misplay costs The Firm
Tied 1-1 in extra frames, Doc's screaming oppo grounder was hit directly to Truck in right, who let it scoot between his legs and allowed Doc to get all the way to 3rd, eventually scoring on Tubby's RBI groundout to give the Tegroes a 2-1 win against their division rivals on Thursday night. Nelly pitched the first five frames for the Tigers, allowing the Royals' only run when they strung together three singles in the last of the 5th to tie the game at 1. Seibs (2-0) pitched the last 2 frames to vilture the win. Torpedo pitched 4 strong innings, allowing only a single run on an RBI double in the 3rd by Tubby. Rocket (0-1) who was battling flu-like symptoms all night ans was clearly not 100%, pitched the last three frames and was the tough-luck loser after Truck's defensive gaffe.
