Tegroes tee off to earn sweep
In an impressive offensive display, the Tigers completed the sweep with a 12-hit, 12-run attack, invoking the mercy kill over the Royals by a 12-2 count. Royals' starter Truck (0-1) lasted just a third of an inning, coughing up 4 runs with underwhelming stuff that led him to yank himself from the game. Vegas pitched nobly in a mop-up role for 3+ innings. Rookie Tegro Andy Staples (1-0)pitched well, going three innings and getting the 'dub. The Royals only runs came when Tubby tossed a fat floater in to Truck, who drilled a liner out of the rink for a 2-run shot. Tubby also had a monster game at the dish, with 2 taters and 7 RBI. Staples hit his first HRL homer and drove in a pair.
