Pitching/Defense:
Balls usually throws a few innings a year, and he's a viable option for the club, should the need arise. However, he still hasn't logged enough innings to really hone his pitches. He's got plenty of getty-up in the field, and very good range to get anywhere in the rink.
Batting/Baserunning
Starting off on a torrid pace, Balls had a killer season at the plate last summer. His balanced swing produces more than enough power, and he has enough speed to leg out close ground balls and stretch for doubles in the gap.
2007 Outlook:
2006 may have been a career year for Matt. It'll probably be tough for him to duplicate the .360 average and 6.3 Home Run rate again this season. Never the less, this guy can mash, and seeing hit knock 15 Hr, 50 RBI, and score another 50 Runs seems pretty likely.
