Pitching/Defense:
Ya can’t knock ten plus wins a year, and Nick obviously knows how to get the job done on the hill. Never-the-less, his reduced K-rate and increased BB-rate each of the past 3 seasons isn’t the most encouraging trend around. It’s no easier to guess which of a dozen pitches he’ll throw ya now-a-days, but batters appear to have found some success being patient and trying to force him to make a mistake.
Batting/Baserunning
Last year, Sanchez proved that 05 was no fluke. He pulls most everything thrown his way, but has good coverage and can reach even outside benders. He mashes with the best of them, always knocking in and scoring a ton of runs.
2007 Outlook:
Don’t expect Sanchez to ever return to those Sub-Mendoza 2004 summer days. His offense is here to stay. His eyes are fixed on the cup, and anything short of a World Series berth may be a bit of a letdown for this top notch competitor.
