FINAL

  (7)
Game 3
In the deciding Game 3 of the 2012 HRL Finals, it proved to be another pitchers dual until the end.  Game 1 starters Hjal and The Man took the mound once again for their respective teams, hoping to just keep their teams in it until their offense could break through.  While both pitchers for the most part shut down the opposition, their were moments during the game that each team had a man or two on base hoping to break through with the first run.  No moment more crucial than in the middle innings with Edgar and The Man on base, a ball was hit out to right field and it looked as though Edgar would round third base for the crucial first score.  H8R picked up the ball quickly and instead of throwing home he wisely went for the The Man running between 1st and 2nd.  He tagged The Man for the third out before Edgar could cross home, keeping the score locked at 0-0.  There was so many great game played throughout these HRL playoffs, it just wouldn't have seemed right to only play 6 innings in the deciding game.  And this one was no different.  But in the bottom half of the 7th with one out and nobody on, Hjal stepped into the box and cracked the first pitch he saw over the right field fence for the walk-off home run.  Another spectacular season in the HRL came down to a decisive 3rd game where two great teams played their hearts out.  In the end the Gothams win their first HRL Championship.  Can't wait to start the 2013 season.
